•  My Story

My husband, Jeffery and I live in Edna.   We have been married for 23 years and have two wonderful daughters.  Kyla is a student at Wharton County Junior College studying Health Information Technology, and Alyssa is a junior at IHS and is very active in the Golden Cobra Band.

I graduated from Calhoun High School in 1989 and went on to Victoria College and UHV.  I graduated from UHV in 1993.  I began teaching 7th and 8th grade reading at Travis Middle School in Port Lavaca immediately after graduating from UHV.

I chose to take some time off from teaching and stayed home when my girls were little, and I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to do that.  I cherish that time.

When I returned to teaching, I taught 6th grade at Faith Academy in Victoria for three years.

This is my ninth year to be a part of the Industrial ISD family.  I taught fifth grade at the IEE campus for 2 years.  I am beginning my seventh year as a dyslexia teacher and fifth year as the district dyslexia coordinator. I am excited to once again be part of an elementary campus as the dyslexia teacher and interventionist on the IEW campus this year.  I will continue to serve as the dyslexia teacher on the High School campus as well.   I consider it a privilege to teach in this school district and enjoy working with the incredible students, staff, and administrators.
