What is Dual Credit
- Dual credit courses allow eligible high school students to enroll in college-level courses while simultaneously earning high school credit. Industrial ISD permits students to enroll only in dual credit courses that align with the district's academic calendar and follow a standard 16-week term. Exceptions may be granted for students entering junior or senior year who have declared early master schedule. Students may only register for dual credit courses from the district's approved list. Enrollment in dual credit courses is based on seat availability. Seats will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
Who Can Participate
- Dual credit opportunities are available to students in high school who meet specified college readiness standard scores. Students must be in good academic standing at the time of enrollment in all high school and dual credit courses to be eligible each semester. Students may enroll in up to three dual credit courses per semester. This requirement can be waived for students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and if approved by the High School Principal and the Instructional Programs Director.
Participation Beginning with the Graduating Class of 2030.
- Freshman Year-The student may enroll in one dual credit course per semester. If freshman are not in good academic standing at the end of the semester, they will not be permitted to enroll in dual credit for the upcoming semester.
- Sophomore Year-The student may enroll in in up to two dual credit courses per semester. If sophomores are not in good academic standing at the end of the semester, they will not be permitted to enroll in dual credit for the upcoming semester.
